officially, trent is god. go to nin.com and get the lights in the sky free tour sampler EP NOW! it's not an official halo, but it has a seed number, so it's part of the NIN catalogue. the EP includes 5 tracks, one by each of the opening acts for the lights in the sky over north america 2008 tour (i guess if i need to mention the name of the tour later, i'll just use the acronym... LITSONA2008...funny) including deerhunter, does it offend you, yeah?, a place to bury strangers and crystal castles, all of which are incredible bands! (especially a place to bury strangers... so cool) plus, it contains echoplex from the slip. the zip file comes with some extras, such as the front and back covers of the record in hi-def, posters, avatars, icons, wallpapers, and other kinds of cool NIN freebies... yay! so go get it, it's DRM-free and free of charge too!

... oh ya, as for the lineup, that one guy who was supposed to be the new bassist for NIN or whatever, rich fownes (from the eighties matchbox b-line disaster) apparently was fired, because TR himself revealed today on his very own blog that the new NIN lineup (like he said, the strongest lineup ever) includes alessandro cortini, robin finck (hellyea!), josh freese, trent (duh!) and former beck bassist justin meldal-johnson... who apparently kicks a lot of ass. so whatever, let's see how these guys bring it when they hit the road in july. fuck yes!!!

i agree with clouser and lohner, the entire fragile era lineup was probably the best ever, but vrenna... i don't know, he's honestly not a good drummer. he might be a multi instrumentalist, but i don't think he was outstanding at the drums. i like his solo project tweaker, though... check it out. jerome dillon, on the other hand, he really is one effing genius... too bad he and trent are no longer pals... and i like his solo project nearLY as well... check it out too hehe... anyway, i think anything at this point will be better than the with teeth/year zero lineup... especially cause now the band includes robin 'most awesome guitarist ever!' finck!!! yes!!! oh ya and josh freese, who's drummed for like every band that's ever existed. whatever... and alessandro's okay too... i also like his solo project modwheelmood... haha these people and their solo projects... check it out too, it's cool!

I've heard 'em too (I even heard Trent's pre nin records, yuck) and I agree Vrenna is not a drummer too gifted (no contest against Josh) but he managet to tolerate a lot of punishment from trent when they played onstage hahaha lot of scars must be there

hahaha yes, like when trent threw the mic stand at him and he kept playing... dude, that was so cool. ya and trent's pre-nin bands were crappy, we all know that, but it all started to get real awesome with the purest feeling recordings... haha trent's even embarrassed of his pre-nin music.

the thing is trent was only keyboardist in option 30 and the exotic birds and all of the other bands he was in before nin, so other people wrote the music and the lyrics and crap. so we can't really blame reznor for the suckiness of his previous bands... he was just doing his work and getting paid. besides, we all know he's a million times better than that, i mean... even with teeth and year zero, which are the weakest nin albums still kick option 30's ass ANYTIME! hell, even that's what i get (hahahaha that is such a stupid song) beats any pre nin trent reznor song dead!
