Topic: Aspiring Indian Pilots
Hello! Everyone...With the Aviation boom in India it now looks like the whole of India is on its way to get a CPL!!

Many aspiring pilots ( like you & me, like us!)have decided to be trained in the USA or some other country.
Since I am currently being trained in the USA,I would like to share all the information about the process, requirements, costs to help you decide on your career prospects.

I have been a "Victim" of a school which talks high about itself in India and currently there are 100s of other Indians being victimised by that school.God helped me & I managed to change school,I did loose a lot of time & money but its all over for good!!

Lets discuss everything- starting with your search for a flight school...finally converting the FAA CPL to a DGCA CPL in India.

Good Luck!

HI! Marco
AMERICAN SCHOOL OF AVIATION located at ATWATER in CALIFORNIA ,USA(www.iflyasa.com/index1.html).. is a really sad place. all that they need is the money. I signed up with them while in the middle east for training on piper sceneca which they don't even have!!
accomodation, facilites etc mentioned on the website is all fake!!
aircrafts grounded frequently by FAA for not being airworthy.
instructors themselves say that perhaps some day they will die in one of these old planes!!
local banks will not accept a cheque for deposit from this school cauz it always bounces.
Training rates are really high cauz what they quote is all lies.

Average monthly flying per student is 6 hours...yes SIX hours in a month!!

suspension ,expulsion, extra money deduction from account is very common for no reason at all.

Current victims: MAINLY INDIANS,MALAYSIANS,TAIWAN STUDENTS,A FEW EUROPEANS.

PLEASE make everyone aware of this school.
they claim to have signed a contract with kingfisher airlines in India for training their pilots.God Help!!
without teaching how to use a Rudder they train pilots!! i pray FAA or some govt. agency does something about it.

What keeps you from telling the FAA Hotline? Also, in the U.S. the Consumer Protection is taken very serious, even for foreigners.
Depending on you, you can file a complaint and then a suit agains the flight school, for the money they have "made dissappear". Depending on how much they stole. If you paid for a contract were there are "no refunds", but they did not hold up with their side of the bargain, you definetly have to file a complaint. Can be done online!
Good luck!

Hi!M,
I now tell you the "loop holes" that the school uses to trap students & their money. Again let me remind you that they Don't dare to mess around with locals or Green Card holders
1)I am sure you are aware of the TSA background check for int'l students.Well the owner's Brother in Law is the officer incharge. If we students mess with the school they will label us as threat to aviation as they did it to my close friend and ban you from flying in american arispace. trust me my friend was expelled. he later said sorry for NO reason and was reinstitated.
2) USA Govt. requires int'l students to have a minimum hours of attendance per month in a school. Well obviously if aircrafts are down for months and instructors do not turn up you dont "collect" the attendace hours. there again- when we ask for a transfer they said they will have the visa cancelled since "we did not fulfil the attendance requirements"
3)you land abt 10 min late and they charge you for a whole hour of flight and instruction...yes they do..i can show you print outs of accounts.
4)They have contacts with some FAA examiners who support them. you see Money Talks!
5) Getting an attorney and filing a suit against the school is a good idea but not affordable. most of us from asia/india come with the bare minimum money for the course,in most cases mortgage the house with the bank to get education loan.those who have that much money to file a suit are usually locals who very easy get a transfer.

So you see with my experience I personally suggest that do not believe anything unless you actually visit and see for yourself.

I happened to speak with 2 -3 students before i arrived in USA,unfortunately they turn out to be the "pets" of the owner. spying for him amongst the students.

thats how it is.hope things improve for good.

Hi! People,
Finally had my solo flight today. Am now enrolled at Mazzei Flying Service (www.flymfs.com) located at the City of Fresno ,califronia State,USA.
its a wonderful school and their technique of "attitude flying" is simply unmatched.
I am flying the Piper Tomahawk(PA-38). its a low wing aircraft and make transition to bigger ones easier.
The school is honest & delivers everything that it promises.Once it so happened that weather in the local area was not good fo flight training..this school having charget aircrafts flew all its students to a different location got all the flying done for the day and flew them back at no extra cost.
also recently one of my flights was cancelled for a reason..my instructor gave me 2 hrs ground for free..dont see that happening else where.

they are full most of the time. they dont really need to advertise or publisize to get students.. they are well reputed and well know even in the east coast.

will highly recommend this school to all... also for HELOCPPTER training.
