Dear friends and customers, We’re closing down our pub on the 19th January 2008. So as to avoid the usual rumours and misinformation, which usually occur, we hereby declare that the decision to close down O Lado Negro Bar was made several months ago and the reasons to do it are merely related to personal motives, such as an urging need to dedicate more time to our family and ourselves.As the majority of you well know, our pub does not support us. Both of us have a job and, as you may imagine, it’s not easy to work 12 hours a day and not have time to lead what we’d call a life.As to the economical situation, as it is common knowledge, the crisis which has hit our country doesn’t seem to go away and, of course, small investors like us have been deeply affected. However, money has never been the most important. Our aim was to get together those who shared a common liking for the underground Metal and Goth movements and the love for a band as important as the Fields of the Nephilim. We didn’t fail this objective!!Fools are those who still think that they can make a living in our country, just out of music, especially those connected to most underground trends. To make a living out of playing in a band, making shows, selling alternative clothing or cds, or even managing a pub, is a dream of many but only made true to a minority who, like us, fight day-in-day-out just for the fun of doing this and to share it with others. This was not our first pub and possibly won’t be the last. I’m already working in a new project, again related to this enthralling kind of music, which will be revealed in due time. Finally, we’d like to thank those who shared these 2 ½ years with us, the support provided by our closest friends and the visits of those who came from abroad to get to know this place so full of personality. You are a part of O Lado Negro spirit!! See you tomorrow ...Dead But Dreaming
