When darkness falls and most animals are settling down for the night, some are just waking up. These creatures are nocturnal, which means they are active at night.

Being nocturnal helps some animals avoid certain problems they might meet in the daytime. For birds such as owls and nightjars, for example, hunting at night means there are far fewer other birds around competing for prey. Some desert creatures, such as gerbils and jerboas, stay hidden during the day to avoid the heat. They only creep out of their burrows in the cool of darkness. Many prey animals such as rabbits, mice and rats find there are fewer predators around at night and it is easier to stay out of their way.

Cats are small, furry mammals that are often kept as pets. There are over 40 different breeds of cats. Many cats are very affectionate and have fine, soft fur. All cats have excellent night vision that help them hunt in the dark.

We usually dance to music because it inspires us to move. All over the world, when men, women and children hear music they tap their feet and clap their hands.People often dance just to enjoy themselves. Sometimes, as well, people create dances to communicate particular ideas and feelings to others. So dance falls into two broad categories—dance for participation and dance for performance.
