About Me

war is merely the catastrophic effect of our daily living, and so long as we do not change our daily living, no amount of legislation, controls, and sanctions will prevent war. Is peace in the mind and heart, in the way of our life, or is it merely a governmental regulation, something to be decided in the United Nations? I am afraid that for most of us, peace is only a matter of legislation, and we are not concerned with peace in our own minds and hearts; therefore, there can be no peace in the world. You cannot have peace, inward or outward, so long as you are ambitious, competitive, so long as you regard yourself as a German, a Hindu, a Russian, or an Englishman, so long as you are striving to become somebody in this mad world. Peace comes only when you understand all this and are no longer pursuing success in a society which is already corrupt. Only the peaceful mind, the mind that understands itself, can bring peace in the world.

PEACE IS OF THE HEART, NOT OF THE MIND. TO KNOW PEACE YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT BEAUTY IS. THE WAY YOU TALK, THE WORDS YOU USE, THE GESTURES YOU MAKE- THESE THINGS MATTER VERY MUCH, FOR THROUGH THEM YOU WILL DISCOVER THE REFINEMENT OF YOUR OWN HEART. BEAUTY CANNOT BE DEFINED, IT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED IN WORDS. IT CAN BE UNDERSTOOD ONLY WHEN THE MIND IS VERY QUIET.

Dear friends
My travel so far has been a  great venture, meeting new people from all over the world and discovering amazing places. The best so far it was Goa. Here we spend some time in one beautiful beach, Arambol. Its was like paradise! Great atmosphere and the  local people was so friendly. The monsoon started at the same time we arrived there, you can see in some pictures the dark sky. All the places were closed, just having one restaurant open on the beach.
After 2 weeks we decided to go up north, running away from the heavy rain. We stoped in Mumbai and it was a huge shock! The contrast between richness and poverty. The city has more than 20 millions people!! twice the population of Portugal in one city in India!! It is not a pleasant place to stay. It is too dirty and stinking.. We took the train and we went up north to Dehli, the capital of India. To be here is a mission, we need to be aware 100% with thief and the Harassment is terrible. Big cities is  not a great idea but we need to have a open mind to know and experience different things.
Soon we will go to Ladakh, in Himalaya, a middle age style of life. Ladakh is a mountaineers paradise where we can trekking, camping, kayaking and be connected with the nature. Staying in guest houses managed by Buddhist monks , working as volunteers, helping local communities, schools and help protect the  environment.  Here in the middle of the mountains is where we can find numerous places of yoga, meditation classes, massages and rubs after long treks in the hills. This is the kind of experiences that wee are looking for.
So much to do!
I miss all of you
