Priast was born in Jakarta, September 10, 1983.
At first, he did not want to be a musician. Soon after he turned 16, he began knowing music.
He began his music career in an underground band in Medan, North Sumatra; played as a drummer. And also a guest drummer, in one of the North Sumatra University band.

In his high school career, he was a bass player in one of the high school bands. But not for long, he moved to Canada to study English, Journalism, and also Multimedia Design.

In Canada, he began to learning on how to be a DJ. he self learned himself by using computer as his "weapon of choice." (soon, he only play by using computer, a Digital DJ).

His first song was to be called "THE WORLD NEEDS A HERO," but suddenly, he decided to bury down because it lacks of materials. So, he continued to gain more knowledge on DJing.

He was a guest DJ, known as DJ Priast, in one of the Broadcast Internet Radios accross the world as one of the newcomers and played almost everynight. His listeners was about 50 to 80 logged listeners.

He also invited to be a guest DJ in Mardi Grass party 2004, March Break Madness party in 2006, and bunch of home session parties. He began to use dA SoulShakeR as his DJ name, taken from Max Linen's song, The Soulshaker.

in 2006, he decided to quit playing and focus on his studies. Never played again for almost two years.

in 2009, Priast will begin to play again in Indonesia, he currently using ASUS G2S and BCD3000, and still in the phase of re-learning his abilities on DJing.
